The sustainable and biodegradable
solution for agricultural mulching
Smurfit Kappa has developed a new and revolutionary paper to replace the polythene plastic use for agricultural mulching. This paper made from long pine fibers from sustainably managed forests in Northern Spain, enables an efficient and eco-friendly mulching. Moreover, it prevents weed growth and does not need to be removed after the harvest as it is fully compostable. What’s more, it can be laid with existing machinery use in agricultural practices.
AgroPaper is fully compostable according to EN13432 with optimal temperature control. Therefore, it does not overheat the crop like happens with the polythene plastic. Also, there are lower handling costs as the paper is compostable, creating organic material for the benefit of the ground.
